Rocky IV – Original Motion Picture Score Vinyl LP (Intrada)
The most iconic sports-film score of the 1980s — on 180-gram vinyl, direct from Vince DiCola's own stock.
Rocky IV was Vince DiCola's first full feature-film score — and he made it count: a groundbreaking fusion of then-cutting-edge synth technology (Fairlight CMI, Synclavier) and full orchestra, conducted by Jeremy Lubbock. From the adrenaline of "Training Montage" to the raw power of "War" and the haunting "Apollo's Death and Funeral", this is the music that defined an era of cinema.
Vince, looking back: "I think that my Rocky IV score was a marriage of rock and classical elements that was new. The music quickly came to occupy a very special place in my heart."
The original 1985 album only contained two short score excerpts. This Intrada release (INT 3004) finally brought Vince's complete score to vinyl for the first time: premium 180-gram pressing in a deluxe full-color gatefold jacket, with liner notes and rare photos from the production. 15 tracks, including Vince's own arrangement of Bill Conti's classic "Theme from Rocky".
